Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and SPEAR traditionally teams up to provide new shoes to children in local homeless shelters. The goal of the national shoe drive, \u201cSoles for Little Souls,\u201d is to give away 100,000 pairs of shoes to children in every community where Sigma Gamma Rho chapters exist. Distribution will take place simultaneously nationwide.<\/p>\n

As a catalyst, or agent for service, SPEAR\u2019s goal is to make a significant impact on public awareness and the level of contributions to those in need during our centennial. The SPEAR Soles for Little Souls Centennial Community Service Project will be hosted next month in February. The idea of partnering with other national organizations can also be looked at for maximum participation in all arenas. This will allow for the collaboration with community-based organizations and provide shoes for those in need. The actual event is to occur on February 22, 2022, with donations being given in the community.<\/p>\n
During the month of February donations can be accepted on behalf of hundreds of local children\/students across regions living in a transitional residence and\/or select charities\/schools on a national platform in our communities.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that the generosity of giving could greatly increase the contributions and help even more of those in need. Since often times we don\u2019t know the shoe sizes in advance, SPEAR Foundation is asking that donations be given in the form of gift cards, gift certificates form stores that sell shoes. Given the pandemic at this time we feel this would be the best options.<\/p>\n
